I’m still going to pick this up on vinyl as soon as it comes out. I just could not wait.

After listening to the 3 songs that Monsters of Folk have released I can honestly say that I am expecting a diverse and fantastic album. My only worry is that Conor isn’t going to get as much play as Jim James and M. Ward.

“My guess, based on what he’s expressed to me, is that there will be one more Bright Eyes record and that will probably be it. I think that’s his line of thinking at this point — closing the chapter on that moniker. I think he feels like Bright Eyes has a certain association, for better or worse. I think he’s trying to distance himself a little bit from what that means to people.”

Oberst/Mogis/James/Ward Album Confirmed! The supergroup, rightfully called “Monsters of Folk,” release their self-titled debut on September 22. I can not wait! Click here to see their, thus far, very lackluster website.
